Holly Hedge Estate Spring Wedding – Mr. and Mrs. Murphy

Where do I even begin with this wedding. I suppose with the obvious, the dreaded weather. All week leading up to their wedding day the forecast called for rain. Not only did it call for rain, it called for thunderstorms. And if you thought that was enough, they called for flash floods and 1-2 inches of rain in less than 12 hours. When that is the forecast, you bring yourself to the realization as a photographer that portraits outside probably won’t happen, especially if it’s storming and raining that had. However, you do hope and pray that the rain will let up just enough for it to be safe to bring at least the Bride and Groom outside with umbrellas and rain boots for just a few portraits.
There must have been a whole heck of a lot of people hoping and praying the same way I was because not more than 30 minutes prior to the first look, the rain stopped. When I walked out of the bridal suite to make sure the first look location was clear of clutter, my jaw just about hit the floor. There was no sign of rain, in fact, the sun was trying to come out. There were no puddles. The cobblestone courtyard was practically dry. You better believe I squealed and jumped up and down, and then proceeded to utilize all the dry space that we could for pictures!
As for the bride and groom, Gina and Patrick, I am so incredibly grateful for them. I said it before and I’ll say it again, they have hearts of gold. You can tell a lot about a couple by the people they surround themselves with and my gosh if I could hijack a wedding party and hire them every weekend I would. The guys got my sarcasm within seconds and had me laughing the whole day…even if they were giving me a hard time. As for the ladies, they were always 5 steps ahead of anything Gina could possibly want or need. They were just the most genuine, sweet group of girls. I could go on and on about this wedding day and this amazing couple, but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!
